Encouraging diverse books for a diverse world. More information...
The Northern California Childrens Book Alliance is a partnership of booksellers, librarians, authors, and sales reps from our multifaceted publishing world. The primary goal is to share ideas for building a strong and healthy book community, discuss philosophies, address concerns, mull over the new ways of doing business, and simply connect and share best practices within our broader community.
Membership entitles you and your staff to attend meetings (four a year), which rotate between bookstores around the Bay Area, as well as the NCIBA Fall Discovery Show and Spring Gathering. It is an invaluable way to gain a deeper understanding of our industry, and explore ways to bring visibility, understanding, and action to the issues and opportunities we all face.
You’ll also have access to our 150 member Google list-serve-our forum where we can ask for assistance and feedback from our extended community -“My customer is looking for a blue book published in the 1960’s..,” or “have you tried Instagram as a promotional tool and how has that worked for you?”. Or post about new projects under consideration, in the works or hot off the press.
Membership to the NCIBA includes membership in the NCCBA - make sure to let us know you'd like to be on the NCCBA list-serve.
Our associate membership with authors, illustrators, librarians, and publishers insures an extra degree of perspective and insight.
